A contract lands in your inbox with a deadline attached. It is forty pages of someone else's drafting, written by someone else's lawyer, in someone else's interest.
You send it for review and get back a document covered in comments. Some flag real exposure. Some flag drafting preferences. Nothing tells you which three clauses actually matter or what to do about them on the call tomorrow.
So you negotiate on instinct, concede the wrong points, and sign something you have not really understood.
Contract Review, Risk Report and Negotiation Brief
A structured review producing three things: a clause-by-clause analysis of what the agreement actually does, a risk report ranking the exposures by commercial consequence, and a negotiation brief setting out your position on each point — what to push, what to trade and what to accept.
Your Vision, Backed by the Right Legal Support
You build the business. We help you protect it.
Picture walking into the negotiation knowing your three non-negotiables, your four trading chips and the two points that look alarming but are not worth the fight. You are not reacting to their draft. You are working your own list.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Legal That Works?
Legal That Works is a digital-first legal service designed by ASCO LAW (Messrs Akmal Saufi & Co) specifically for business owners and founders. We help you structure, grow, and protect your business through practical legal solutions—delivered fast, in plain English & Bahasa Malaysia, and with no office visit required.
What if I’m not sure what legal service I need?
No problem. Most business owners aren’t legal experts! Just reach out. Our team will guide you to the right service or help you understand your options—without jargon or upselling.
How is this different from a basic contract review?
A basic review tells you what is wrong. This gives you a ranked risk report and a negotiation position on every material point, so you know what to do with the findings.
Can you review an agreement we have already signed?
Yes. We will set out your position under it and advise on options, which may include a supplemental agreement if the other side will vary it.
How quickly can this be turned around?
It depends on the length and complexity. Tell us your deadline when you send the document and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Will you negotiate on our behalf?
Yes, if you want us to. Some clients prefer to negotiate themselves using the brief, with us in the background.
What if the other side refuses to change anything?
Then you make an informed decision about whether to sign, which is exactly what the risk report is for.
Are your services affordable?
Our transparent fee structure means no billing surprises. Membership unlocks the best rates, but even one-off services are designed to be clear and competitive. You’ll always know what you pay.
Who will be helping me?
All our services are delivered by our licensed lawyers under the Malaysian Bar with proven experience across industries. You’ll work with a real legal team, not chatbots or generic customer support.
Is everything done online?
Yes. Our service is fully digital. You can consult, review documents, sign agreements, and access your files securely from anywhere. No office visit required unless you want to meet in person. No office visit is required. If you require us to attend at your office or outside meetings, additional charges will apply.
